Six Sentence Sunday - Part One

My big project for the summer was to complete my story for the Romy FicExchange. While I’m still rounding up the last couple of chapters, I thought I might give a sneak peek from the beginning. I will eventually post the whole story once it’s completed. Thanks to @applejacks1552 for the fun prompts. :) Enjoy!

Rogue was being haunted. Literally. Really. No, this wasn’t just her psyches acting up. This was one hundred percent an external haunting. And, no one believed her. She was being haunted by the ghost of boyfriend past.

And, he was really starting to annoy her. At least at the moment.

Snowbound

Summary:

Christmas is fast approaching and Rogue knows two things for certain—she hates the snow, and she misses spending quality time with her husband. Meanwhile, Remy is distracted and keeping secrets (again), leaving Rogue to wonder what exactly he has planned.

The grandfather clock in the front room struck noon and the resounding chimes echoed through the lower level of the Mansion. It alerted all the current occupants that lunch would soon be served. But, for the moment, Rogue was still alone in the dining room with her hot chocolate. She was trying to sweeten her sour mood with the treat.

Patterns:

It would appear in my first sentences I usually try to set the mood of the piece/chapter through either character or setting descriptions.

Favorite:

I’m really enjoying the start of “Dreams of This.” Or, maybe it’s because it reminds me of where the story leads. Happy Romy moments. :)

Bonus Thoughts:

- I was greatly amused when I was reminded that one of the prompts for “Snowbound” was ‘as the clock struck midnight’ and I began the story with the clock striking noon. (Don’t worry, we did get to midnight as well).

- How did I manage to get the shortest sentence (1 word) and the longest sentence (48 words) next to each other?
